My kids

I was at work today, and I was watching a couple of my kids playing in our space shuttle (two big boxes, painted white). We finished our space unit three weeks ago, and they are still enthralled with the subject. Two of the kids would run into the box, close the doors and would excitedly exclaim "we're going to the moon! 5-4-3-2-1- blast off! No no no lift off!" Then they'd bang around in the box, making engine noises. Then they announced "we're here!" and they'd barge out, huge grins on their faces and bound around the room (due to less gravity ;) ) and then one of them yelled "watch out for the gravity!" and she ran back to the box. Hey, it's hard to teach the concept of gravity to 4 year-olds, ok? And they'd close the doors again, and decide where to go next. Watching them made me smile. It also made me very proud. To know that I taught them that information and that it stuck (for the most part, lol) is very gratifying. It makes me feel good. And I like to feel good :)

Heck, teaching 1st graders about that stuff is tough! Bravo for getting 4 yr olds to learn it!!!(PS Very cute story!)
