Max around the house

There are better pictures in this series, but I like this one because of the juxtaposition of Max and Elway. I love that Elway is sniffing his baby and the look on Max's face is fabulous. I also love that you can tell how good Max is getting at holding his head up. He's getting so big; he's officially out of new born clothes and diapers!

This Moment

All Max, All the Time

I know I said no words on "this moment" posts, but I'm changing that. I like to talk. Surprise surprise.

As I was looking through this group of photos, I did a double-take when I got to this one. I didn't realize I'd taken a picture mid-spit-up. This picture pretty much sums up what happens in my life at "this moment" and many other moments! Max spits up constantly, we go through several outfits and blankets a day (and by we, I mean we. I usually have to change at least once a day). The poor kid's skin is so irritated from all the spit-up and subsequent clean up. I'm just glad it doesn't seem to bother him.

It's a good thing I'm not a shopper...

Love me

I have a confession to make. I might think baby clothes are cuter than babies. Ok, ok, I won't go that far. But come on! How cute is this stuff!?

Max makes me giggle Let's Cuddle Max at home

But then again, babies don't need all that man-made cuteness, they are pretty darn adorable just in their birthday suits.

Getting ready

My friend Lia does a segment on her blog titled "{this moment}" which consists of "a single photo - no words - capturing a moment from the week. A simple, special, extraordinary moment. A moment I want to pause, savor and remember." I like the idea a lot, and will try to do a weekly "this moment" photo.

Gifts for Maxwell

Gifts from the McColley's

The McColley family gave Max a wonderful quilt made by Cathy and a copy of "Where the Wild Things Are" by Maurice Sendak (featuring Max's namesake). He also got a cuddly elephant puppet that he is already enjoying.

It's wonderful to know that Max has so many friends and family members who care about him. You can see more photos of Max and his gifts on Flickr.

Visitors Aplenty

Max has been very busy meeting friends and family:

At the restaurant

On Saturday, my mom, sister, Max and I drove up to Phoenix to meet up with my cousin Theresa. Theresa lives in New Jersey and came to Arizona on a class trip to see the Four Corners and some pretty amazing sites. She flew out of Phoenix so we were able to meet up with her for dinner before she left. Max can't wait to meet Theresa's five kids now!

Matching bibs

On Monday, Jeff, Max and I drove up to Phoenix to meet Josh, who is Devon's boyfriend. Josh lives in Red Deer Alberta and was in Phoenix for a golf trip. Josh gave the Oiler bibs to Max, and he apparently needed one himself!

Visiting

Today we visited Libby, Nate and Sam. It was so nice to catch up with them.

Visiting

Jeff and I coached Nate (the young man on the right) when he was four-years-old, and he's now in sixth grade. Sam was just a little guy when we met him, and he's now in fourth grade. Both boys excel academically and are just the sweetest, kindest kids. We'll be lucky if Max turns out half as well as those two.

My aunt Arlene will be here soon to meet baby Max, and Grandma and Grandpa Gardner will be here at the end of the month. So much love for such a little guy!
