Megan's Childhood Rabbit

Quotes from my class

I was looking through an old notebook from work in which I write funny and cute things the kids say. Here are a few of the gems:

"I'm so tired I could eat a whole elephant."

"It rained puddles!"

"I'm starving like a dude."

"Dinosaurs can't swim guys. But they can go in boats."

"Fee fi fo fum, I smell English muffins."

"I have a best friend named Claire. She's a girl, not a store."

"The T-Rex won't eat me. He makes me food. He doesn't eat my toys at night. He makes me pizza. And salad."

"You should always pet a dinosaur, unless they bite."

One child asked us "did you know my bed could be a sofa?" and another kid replied "did you now my bed could be a violin?"

"You never talk to strangers, like wolves."

"I'm a big fan of dragons, you know."

"Life's not fair. Life gets whatever it wants. Life's life."

"I told him I could find it. One time I ate a carrot that rabbits eat."

When asked what grandpas do, one kid relied "snore!"

And one from today, in honor of Presidents' Day:

I asked "do you want to be president?" and got this: "yes, I want to have that job so I can get money. I'm gonna be rich, rich, rich! I'd buy bubble gum, silly bandz, popsicles, and new shoes."

And while I'm talking about work, here's a picture of our dragon we made for the Chinese New Year parade.

Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma,
It's me, Max! While I know it's your birthday tomorrow, and I sincerely wish you a happy birthday, I am writing this letter (or blog post, as it were) for another reason. I want to let you know that I miss our walks together. Although, to be honest, it has been much too cold to walk this last week. I look forward to your next visit, and we can walk again! Wish you were here!

Love, Max

p.s. happy birthday!
p.p.s. bababababababaaaa (Mommy didn't know how to translate that last bit)

On a Walk with Grandma

I had to tell someone...

As I write this, Max is upstairs playing in his crib. Not crying or yelling, just playing. He's supposed to be napping. He fell asleep for all of ten minutes in the car earlier, and apparently he's calling that his nap. But this is the first time he's not thrown a fit when he doesn't want to nap, and has just played nicely. I had to document it. He's growing up so fast.

I was feeding him bow-tie pasta and chicken for lunch, and as I looked at him, I could see what he'll look like as a four-year-old. I had no trouble envisioning him being a preschooler, and running around playing with other little boys. This is the first time I've really been able to do that.

He just rode in his big boy car seat for the first time. He is tentatively taking steps. He yells for his Dada to get him up in the morning. He'll be a year old in just over a month. Time is moving much too fast.
